First ensure you do have permission to dial a VPN.


  1. Once the VPN client has been installed on your laptop a connection needs to be made to allow access to the JCA network, a new icon will have been added to your desktop.

  2. Double click the icon and the VPN logon will pop up.

  3. The details will have been pre-configured and saved as a profile by the IT team, you can click connect to initiate the connection.

  4. Click "Accept" to the certificate.

  5. Once successfully connected the status will be displayed.

  6. This window can be closed or minimised and the VPN connection will remain connected, the icon in the task bar will change from white to blue to confirm the VPN is connected.

  7. You can disconnect the VPN by clicking the Disconnect button on the status window or by right clicking the blue icon and choosing disconnect. Shutting down your laptop will also disconnect this automatically.

  8. Once the connected has been initiated you can run the drive mapping file or use any shortcuts available to access server shares or remote desktop connections.
